In the intimate chapel of the Donjon de Vez, visitors are greeted by two majestic sculptures: the white marble recumbents of L\u00e9on Dru and his wife. These monumental works, true masterpieces of neo-Gothic art, were created by Emmanuel Fr\u00e9miet, one of the greatest sculptors of the 19th century.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

Renowned for his animal sculptures, Fr\u00e9miet here demonstrates his mastery of funerary portraiture. The elongated, dignified figures are distinguished by elegant lines and exceptionally fine marble work, playing with light to magnify the bodies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
