Daniel Buren, a major contemporary artist, is renowned for his site-specific works, which transform the spaces they occupy. Buren has forged an iconic signature with his alternating white and colored vertical stripes, 8.7 cm wide, which he has been using since 1967. A work in dialogue<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In 2005, Daniel Buren took over the Donjon de Vez chapel, creating a work specially designed for this unique space. Verri\u00e8res cover the chapel’s two large windows, transforming the light and lines of the architecture. Buren’s vertical strips, integrated into the stained glass windows, interact with the natural light that penetrates the space, creating a changing visual experience throughout the day and seasons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Playing with light and perception<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This intervention is not limited to adding colors and patterns. By playing on the alternating stripes and the intensity of the light, the artist alters the atmosphere of the chapel, revealing unexpected perspectives and redefining the interior space. Buren’s Verri\u00e8res are much more than mere decoration, they invite the viewer to explore the interaction between the architecture of the site and the visual elements of the work.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
