Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival is renowned the world over as the most trend-setting festival.<\/p>\n\n
Between April 10 and 19, 2026, 100,000 spectators flocked to the Empire Polo Field in Indio, Southern California, to hear Justin Bieber, Sabrina Carpenter and Karol G. But that’s not all. Coachella doesn’t just host concerts. The festival welcomes emerging artists whose talent lies in proposing art installations to inhabit a flat, arid desert where festival-goers wander lazily, looking for shady breaks. <\/p>\n\n

” Maze<\/em> “, the PVC labyrinth by Sabine Marcelis<\/h2>\n\n
Sabine Marcelis, a Dutch designer based in the port of Rotterdam, is a generous artist of light and transparency. At Coachella, she offered spectators a labyrinth of soft, pure tangerine shapes. An oasis in which to take refuge and stroll, away from the noise of the crowd and the warm light of the desert. <\/p>\n\n
” Starry Eyes<\/em> “, the starry eyes of Kyriakos Chatziparaskevas<\/h2>\n\n
London-based architect Kyriakos Chatziparaskevas also produces geometric structures that echo the environment. At Coachella, he drew his inspiration from desert flora to build immense canvas cacti. Barrel cacti are known to survive in extreme heat and drought. A spirit that festival-goers immediately embraced, wandering peacefully, dazzled by Chatziparaskevas’ constellations of stars. <\/p>\n\n
Raffi Lehrer, curator of the event, carefully selects the artists who perform at Coachella. One of his objectives is to provoke an intense bodily experience in an environment perceived as hostile. As every year, the immersion was total, in a monumental scenography imbued with poetry. <\/p>\n\n
Inspired by his own artistic practice, large-scale photographic installations and engaged public art, JR launches INSIDE OUT. The initiative invites individuals around the world to convey a message by lending their faces to be displayed in the street. Each action echoes the voices of participants from all over the world, exploring identity and memory, initiating conversations and building bridges between different communities.
