In 2025, the luxury goods market was estimated at 1,500 billion dollars. Even today, more than half of our high-income clientele prefers to buy their luxury goods in-store. It therefore seems logical to offer these privileged buyers the opportunity to consume in elegant buildings, veritable works of art. In December 2025, the House of Dior (LVMH) unveiled its Beijing retail space, House of Dior Beijing, in the South Sanlitun district.

The exterior aesthetics of this monumental 5-storey complex, clad in light, moving golden petals, echoes the interior with works by Wang Xiyao, Xu Zhen, Hong Hao, Claude Lalanne, Franck Evennou and Gio Ponti, to name but a few. The act of shopping becomes a contemporary museum experience, and the style of the building is a perfect reflection of the items on sale.

Christian de Portzamparc, a French urban planner, artist and architect who has won major international awards and is known from New York to Shanghai, designed this sublime building, inspired by the art of draping, so dear to Christian Dior.

A 21st-century trend, luxury brands now prefer to communicate their identity, history and image via these new flagship stores, veritable flagships of contemporary artistic architecture.
